    Mixed Topic: Preservation Sound

Some of you no doubt are aware of this site. But, for those who aren't, there is some interesting and unusual Altec literature as well as other vintage pro sound lit. Enjoy!

Thanks Bowtie, I hadn't seen this before. Loved the Annie Clark video at the bottom of the first page! St Vincent - Dig A Pony - Live @ All Points West Festival 8/1/09 in HD - YouTube

I really like the Belden cables ad, "1001 Wires for Every Electronic Need".

Nice to see an "audio" wire ad from the 50's. I have to wonder if aggressive advertising didn't help secure their status as the standard by which we judge wire and cable to this day.

Oh, and the mic that Altec made(697A) as a high quaity, noise cancelling, wide bandwidth replacement for telephone handsets.................... that fascinates me.

The Marshall Mixer looks an awful lot like the ones my friend Louis Stevenson made in Houston. His company was called Interface Electronics. Great mixers!
